The Siarter Iaith (Language Charter) is for everyone; all members of the school community have a part to play - the learners, staff, parents, carers, governors and the wider community. This will ensure every school has full ownership of their Siarter Iaith.
The objective of the Charter is to provide a clear framework, which can be used to promote and increase the use of Welsh by children in a whole school context.
The Charter’s main aim is to promote a strong Welsh ethos in our school. To ensure that learners are confident in using their Welsh language skills, foster positive attitudes towards the language and increase the use of the language inside and outside school. This is done through providing a range of enriching activities that encourage the children to enjoy learning Welsh.
The Criw Cymraeg are instrumental in leading and driving the Language Charter forward at Heolgerrig Community Primary School.
Our Criw Cymraeg were awarded the Cymraeg Campus Bronze Award in 2020 after several months of hard work to raise the profile of the Welsh Language in our school!
Llongyfarchiadau!
We are now working towards achieving the Silver Award.

Welsh National Anthem Sung by Children
Welsh National Anthem Sung by Male Voice Choir
Mae hen wlad fy nhadau yn annwyl i mi,
Gwlad beirdd a chantorion, enwogion o fri;
Ei gwrol ryfelwyr, gwladgarwyr tra mâd,
Tros ryddid gollasant eu gwaed.
Gwlad, Gwlad, pleidiol wyf i'm gwlad,
Tra môr yn fur i'r bur hoff bau,
O bydded i'r heniaith barhau.
2Hen Gymru fynyddig, paradwys y bardd;
Pob dyffryn, pob clogwyn, i'm golwg sydd hardd,
Trwy deimlad gwladgarol, mor swynol yw si,
Ei nentydd, afonydd, i mi.
Os treisiodd y gelyn fy ngwlad dan ei droed,
Mae hen iaith y Cymry mor fyw ag erioed,
Ni luddiwyd yr awen gan erchyll law brad,
Na thelyn berseiniol fy ngwlad.
